Today

Disclaimer: In the spirit of recording this experience today's post is....A Tidal Wave.

Sundays are a non-working day. That should be good but lately it just gives me the opportunity to reflect, remember and well...........................................................Miss You. That's all.

Why Shady Oaks?

Just to catch everyone up to speed. We were honored to buy the home of Matt's grandparents. Lucille and LaVar Murri. There was a point when we had our belongings at three different homes the house we were selling or as Samurai says; our regular house, Grandma and Grandpa Murri's, where we are currently taking up residency in the basement, or our new home; Grandma Gigi's. It was confusing on a good day. In an effort to transition Gigi's home into our home Molli thought we should call it Shady Oaks. The name fit insistently.

I neglected to post the updated basement photos.

Christmas Eve.

Taken just before final tear down and clean-up. Imagine just the 3 support beams.
Thank you to my sisters-in-law for sacrificing your husbands on Christmas Eve.

New Years Day = Newly framed Basement.

We wouldn't have made it to this point without the tireless efforts of Bishop Murri. Whom we lovingly call Dad.

Not to be forgotten is the expertise of my Dad who rearranged our heating system.

Also, a shout out to Grandma Murri and Meg for your help with the kiddos.

Waves.

Little tide pool waves that rock at our calves. Tidal waves that knock us over leaving us drenched in tears. Waves at sunset when we are quietly reflecting on the sweetness of living a dream. We are in constant motion. All of us. The past four months are blurry for me. I can't remember what I am doing while I am doing it. We have experienced joys, tender mercies, and more changes than we thought we signed up for. What we do know with complete conviction is that we are suppose to live our life at Shady Oaks but that is a story for another post. Mostly I just want to document our journey before it blurs behind me. I want to reclaim some of my previous life by journaling something. Today's Tidal Wave came to Miss Meg. She misses hopping the fence to play with her buddy.

99% of our Holiday Break

Dec 23, 2001

View from northwest corner room.

View from bottom of stairs looking into family room.

As you can see there was a lot of work.
The kids have been so patient this holiday.
They each waited their turn to hammer their bedroom walls into place.
